What Happens During Postmenopause?
Postmenopause begins when you have had 12 consecutive months without a period, marking the end of menopause. While hormone levels stabilize at lower levels and the monthly cycle is behind you, your body may still require support to address lingering challenges:
No More Periods: Enjoy freedom from PMS, cramps, and unpredictable bleeding.
Hot Flashes and Night Sweats: These can linger for some women, disrupting sleep and comfort.
Vaginal Dryness and Reduced Libido: Hormonal changes can affect intimacy and confidence.
Bone Health: The risk of osteoporosis increases due to lower estrogen levels.
Weight Management Challenges: A slower metabolism can make it harder to maintain your ideal weight.
Even after menopause, lower hormone levels can continue to impact your body. Hormone therapy can help you feel better, protect your health, and live confidently in postmenopause

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take insurance?
We do not accept insurance because most plans don’t cover the kind of proactive, personalized hormone care we provide. Traditional insurance is built around quick, reactive, one-size-fits-all treatments – not comprehensive hormone optimization that prevents issues before they start. However, you may be able to use your FSA, HSA, or HRA for reimbursement. Need more details? Call Member Support at (833) 625-3392 Monday–Sunday, 8 AM – 8 PM EST.
Can I take my Fem Excel treatment plan to my Primary Care Doctor (PCP)?
You’re welcome to share your plan, but most PCPs aren’t trained in hormone optimization or the use of bioidentical hormones — which means they may not feel comfortable continuing or managing your treatment.
Many rely strictly on lab ranges, prescribe only synthetic hormones, or are limited by insurance restrictions that prevent personalized care.
At Fem Excel, our providers are hormone specialists who focus on treating the root cause using protocols designed specifically for women. For the safest and most effective results, we recommend continuing your care within the Fem Excel program.
What hormones do you prescribe?
Our providers prescribe bioidentical estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone, along with thyroid support medications when needed.
Can HRT help with menopause symptoms?
Yes! HRT is highly effective in reducing menopause symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, and brain fog. It also supports bone health, heart health, and long-term vitality.
Will HRT help with weight loss?
Balancing hormones, especially estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and thyroid, can make it easier to lose weight by improving metabolism and reducing fat storage. If your thyroid levels are low, optimizing them can further enhance energy and metabolic function. Pairing HRT with a healthy diet and exercise amplifies these results.
How does thyroid medication fit into my treatment plan?
Thyroid hormone replacement is included if your symptoms suggest low thyroid function. Optimizing thyroid levels can improve energy, metabolism, and mental clarity, which are often impacted by hormonal imbalances.
Why do I need a hormone test?
Our at-home test measures your key biomarkers, including estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, thyroid function, and cortisol levels. These results allow our providers to refine your treatment plan tailored to your unique needs.
